Day 1: Pokhara to Kande; Trek to Australian Camp (2,060 m) – 1.5–2.5 Hours

Drive 1–1.5 hours to Kande, trek through forest and stone steps, then complete gentle mobility. The group follows the licensed guide at a sustainable pace, with regular stops for water, photographs and trail safety. Walking time excludes long meal and rest stops and can vary with weather, trail traffic and individual fitness. Daily yoga and wellness practice: Begin before breakfast with 25–35 minutes of progressive mobility for feet, knees and lower back, steady balance and relaxed nasal breathing to prepare for the trail. After hiking, allow time to rehydrate and settle, then join 25–40 minutes of recovery stretching, supported restorative postures and guided relaxation. Finish with 10–15 minutes of meditation or reflective silence. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are taken at local trekking lodges from the available menu unless the final proposal states otherwise. The guide recommends suitable hydration and safe drinking-water options; extra snacks and specialty drinks are personal expenses. Accommodation & Food: Overnight in a local trekking lodge at the day’s destination. Expect a simple twin room, shared facilities at some stops and variable hot water, charging and Wi‑Fi. Safety note: Report headache, nausea, dizziness, unusual breathlessness, injury or severe fatigue immediately. The guide may slow the pace, alter the route, cancel practice or arrange descent; completing the published schedule never takes priority over safety.

What Makes This Trip Different?

Authentic Culture and Local Experience The itinerary spends time in working hill communities instead of treating villages as simple photo stops. Local guidance helps guests understand Gurung culture and responsible lodge behavior. Nature, Practice and Responsible Travel The route offers a real multi-day trek at moderate elevations. Sessions are short and functional, leaving energy for safe walking while minimizing plastic and supporting locally owned services.

Accommodation Details

Expect simple twin rooms, shared bathrooms at some stops, variable hot water and limited sound insulation. Bedding is provided, but a sleeping-bag liner or season-appropriate sleeping bag may improve comfort. Exact lodge names are normally selected operationally.

Transportation Details

Private or tourist-standard road transfers connect Pokhara with Kande/Phedi or the operating roadhead. Road conditions can change starting points and driving times.

Connectivity and Trail Facilities

Mobile signal varies by ridge and valley and may disappear. Share the operator’s emergency contact before departure.

Booking and Cancellation Information

A place is confirmed only after Barunche Treks & Expeditions issues a written proposal, receives the required deposit and confirms the operating partners. The final invoice must clearly state room type, meal plan, transfers, included sessions, supplements and balance deadline.

The signed booking terms govern cancellation, amendment, refunds and force majeure. Weather, transport disruption, local closures, trail conditions or participant wellbeing may require changes while preserving the program’s main value. Any material cost or service change will be communicated as early as practical.

Safety, Insurance and Emergency Information

Insurance must cover trekking to at least 2,100 m, medical treatment, trip interruption and emergency evacuation by the means required.

The guide carries basic first-aid resources and communicates with Barunche when network access allows. Serious cases are moved to the nearest appropriate care by foot, vehicle or helicopter; rescue approval and costs depend on the traveler and insurer.

Permits and Entry Requirements

The final operation must include the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit plus TIMS or any current trekking-registration requirement applicable to the booking.

Meals and Drinking Water

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are taken in trekking lodges from available menus. Choose balanced dishes and allow longer preparation times. Guides explain safe drinking-water options; refill, boiling or treatment is preferred over repeated plastic bottles.

Best Season, Weather and Temperature

Autumn and spring offer the best combination of trail conditions and views. Winter is colder but often suitable. Monsoon brings slippery paths, leeches, cloud and road disruption.

Days may be mild, while mornings and evenings can be cold and windy. Rain can occur in any season; views are never guaranteed. Electricity, Charging and Wi‑Fi Charging and Wi‑Fi may be available in lodges for a fee or with limited capacity. Carry a power bank and do not depend on continuous connection.

Guides and Porters

A licensed trekking guide leads the route and an appropriately trained instructor leads yoga when separately assigned. Porter support and weight limits must be stated clearly; one person should never silently perform two incompatible roles.
