This seven-day trek develops the classic Ghorepani–Poon Hill route into a better-paced yoga and village journey. Rather than rushing to the viewpoint and immediately returning to the road, it continues through Tadapani, Ghandruk, Landruk and Australian Camp. The route passes through dense rhododendron forest, long stone staircases, ridge settlements and cultivated hillsides while offering changing perspectives across the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges when the weather is clear.
The optional pre-dawn climb to Poon Hill reaches approximately 3,210 metres and is the best-known moment of the trek, but it is not the only reason to take this route. Time in Ghandruk
and Landruk adds Gurung cultural context, while the final approach to Australian Camp creates a gradual, satisfying close. Daily yoga is functional and adaptable: short warm-ups prepare the body for stairs and uneven ground, and post-walk sessions focus on recovery, balance and relaxation.
The trek is moderate rather than easy. Participants should prepare for consecutive walking days, repeated climbing and descending, cool mornings and variable lodge facilities. A licensed guide leads the route and current permit or registration requirements must be confirmed before departure. The package is ideal for active travelers who want a recognized Annapurna viewpoint combined with community-based accommodation, mindful pacing and a more complete foothill experience.
The experience
Designed for active beginners, regular walkers, couples, solo travelers and families with older teenagers on an approved private departure. Participants should prepare for consecutive walking days, stairs and uneven trails. Yoga experience is not required; mobility and recovery sessions are adapted to the group.
The character of the journey
Authentic Culture and Local Experience The trail crosses several distinctive settlements rather than returning immediately after Poon Hill. Time in Ghandruk and Landruk adds local context and supports lodge-based community tourism.
Nature, Practice and Responsible Travel Seven days produce a better rhythm for yoga than a compressed itinerary. Practice is used to prepare and recover, while safe pacing, weather judgment and trail conditions remain primary.
Accommodation and meals
Lodges provide simple twin rooms and shared dining areas; bathrooms, hot water, charging and Wi‑Fi vary. Single rooms are subject to availability and cannot be promised at every stop.
Responsible participation
Use refillable water, stay on established trails, minimize lodge waste, respect village privacy and keep yoga sessions quiet in shared accommodation.
Preparation and safety
Moderate, with 3–7 hours of daily walking, long stone staircases and repeated ascent and descent. Train with hills and consecutive walking days.
Planning your visit
Autumn and spring are preferred; winter is colder but possible. Monsoon brings rain, leeches, slippery steps and limited views.
